To achieve this authenticity Fender tracked down original guitar models and studied every inch of them restoring original tooling dies, voicing new pickups and reformulating vintage colours.
The Fender American Vintage 65 Stratocaster is packed with accurate vintage features including the thick "C" shaped Maple neck with round laminated Rosewood fingerboard and large dot inlays. The guitar's lightweight Alder body sports a three ply white pickguard with 11 holes and aged plastic knobs whilst the vintage accurate pickups, bridge saddles and tuner spacing finish off this classic Fender model.
Aerosmith guitarist Brad Whitford has added a new American Vintage '65 Strat to his arsenal.
