At the heart of the innovative SQ-7 digital mixer is Allen and Heath's 96kHz XCVI FPGA engine. This future-proofed engine is capable of delivering high-resolution audio quality with exceptionally low latency of <0.7ms and variable bit depth. Thanks to the XCIV FPGA engine, the SQ-7 is able to handle up to 48 mixing channels at 96kHz and simultaneously process Allen and Heath's renowned DEEP Processing plugins into all channels and mixes.
DEEP Processing provides the ability to pick boutique compressor and preamp emulations to the style and demands of any performance. DEEP plugins can be easily added directly to any of the mixing and input channels. Additionally, they do not add any system latency, regardless of the number of plugins used.
The Allen and Heath SQ-6 has a total of 8 stereo FX engines and the highly renowned RackExtra FX library. Perfect for enhancing any live performance, the RackExtra library provides you with a vast range of emulations of iconic classic reverbs, gated reverbs, delays, modulators and more.
The integrated SQ-Drive allows you to quickly and easily capture stunning 96kHz multitrack or stereo recordings, directly to a USB drive. SQ-Drive can also be used to playback WAV audio files, ideal for walk-in music or background music during breaks.
The SQ-7 is equipped with built-in automatic microphone mixers (AMM's) that add no additional latency to the signal and do not require audio to be routed to an internal DSP or an external plugin system. Automatic mic mixers are ideal for applications where multiple people are speaking, such as conferences, panel discussions and houses of worship. The AMM automatically reduces the level of unused microphones and increases the level of a microphone when a person begins speaking, this helps to improve the overall audio fidelity and prevents background noise being captured by the unused mics. The Allen and Heath Sq-7 mixer provides two 24-channel AMM's which can be operated individually or combined together to create a single 48-channel AMM.
The Allen and Heath SQ-7 can be used in conjunction with a range of Allen and Heath 96kHz/48kHz rack and stage box expanders. When combined with the optional expanders via the SLink intelligent port, the SQ-7 provides up to 48 microphone inputs and can be directly linked to another SQ, Qu or dLive mixing console for two way audio patching.
Allen and Heath offer two essential apps that are designed for use with SQ mixers - SQ MixPad for sound engineers and SQ4YOU for performers.
SQ MixPad provides engineers complete control over the main mixing functions and parameters. Available for iOS and Android devices, SQ MixPad enables the engineer to mix from different positions with the venue and create monitor mixes on stage.
SQ4YOU enables performers and musicians to create their own personal monitor mixes using an Android or iOS smartphone/tablet, without requiring any assistance from a sound engineer. SQ4YOU also allows the engineer to focus on perfecting the front-of-house sound.
