Product Ref: 95390
The RM-2S is comprised of two separate ring modulators, complete with quadrature carrier generator, acting as the internal modulation source for each ring mod. The ring modulator is a classic effect that has been utilised in many audio productions, known from its non-harmonic character of the output signal. It is ideal for creating metallic-style tones such as bells, metal-sounding percussion and even tremolo effects. It is ideal for sound design purposes, allowing you to change the way your tone sounds, providing an added way to sculpt and mould your custom sounds. You can use it a stereo ring mod or as two separate mono ring mods for added flexibility.
For controlling the ring modulators, the Cwejman RM-2S includes Coarse and Fine controls. The Coarse control allows you to manually change the carrier generators frequency range. The precision attenuator is measures in Hz and features a frequency range spanning from 6Hz – 14kHz. You can also select between two frequency ranges with the LF/Audio two-position switch. The LF ranges from 0.1Hz – 24Hz, ideal for low-end sounds such as basslines. One of the most prominent effects (especially within LF mode) is the stereo panning effect, when a signal is inserted into the XL input. The Fine attenuator controls the fine-tuning of your frequency, providing added control for adjusting the tone in subtle increments.
The module also boasts a wide variety of CV and audio connectivity including dedicated outputs for each ring modulator. There are also separate carrier generator outputs, in the form of CG A and CG B connections. Each of the ring modulators also boasts pre-patched X and Y inputs for connecting external modules, ideal for patching signal sources such as synth modules and more. Additionally, the module includes three CV inputs in the form of 2 x Level CV and a Carrier Frequency patch point. This gives you the ability to control parameters from external modules for added flexibility.
