"The Manley Nu Mu uses a variable-mu tube compressor circuit, a solid-state side-chain path, and also a solid-state output amplifier. You get Manley's acclaimed IRON input transformers and the same ultra-low impedance switched mode power supply as used in the Manley CORE channel strip unit.

Interestingly, the all-new feature called the HIP control allows compression at lower dynamic ranges, while leaving louder dynamics unaffected. Working something like a Wet/Dry control where you can mix the compressed and uncompressed audio signals, it is easy to get just the right amount of compression without squashing the dynamics out of the most exciting transients.
