You can also import your backing tracks and samples via USB or SD card to flesh out those small snippets of gold into fully fledged productions all on one unit.
When recording, having visual feedback of levels and processing is always handy so you can see exactly what is going on with your tracking. What's better, is having the ability to make on-the-fly changes that won't affect the end result of your track, meaning you never miss the perfect take. Well, the Zoom R20 has you covered, providing a super simple workflow with an intuitive and smart LCD touchscreen that opens the door to a wide range of editing options. You're free to copy and paste audio across regions, move around the timeline of your track, loop and more all with the touch of a button. Comprehensive mixing and editing can be done all on the R20 so you can get back to focusing on the music.
With a lot of multi-track recorders, recording your tracks is where the functionality ends, meaning you then have to take the time to take your tracks to your DAW to add the finishing touches. Well, the Zoom R20 changes things. With a full multi-effects processor with bass and guitar amp modelling capabilities, you're free add studio quality effects including, EQ, Compressor, limiter, noise gate and reverb without connecting any external devices to the recorder. Effects sends on the R20 allow you to process your audio with 40 preset effects chains that combine up to 3 effects at once, with the ability to create your own presets for quick recall of your favourite processing.
Sometimes you may need to play and and record at the same time, but if space doesn't allow for your recorder to be close to you, the optional Zoom BTA-1 adapter will allow you to remote control your mixer with your iOS device without having to interact with the physical unit. What's more, as a first for multi-track recorders, the Zoom R20 app can be voice controlled making it accessible for those with visual impairments, as music and the enjoyment that comes from it is something that should never be exclusive.
