The Speed Cobra is a pedal that was meticulously designed to provide incredibly smooth and lightweight action, maximising your comfort when playing fast passages. Some of that seamless action is provided by the recessed setting, which balances the natural playing feel of the Chain Drive's motion and lighter action.
The Long footboard is a specially designed pedal board for the Speed Cobra series that rapidly accelerates the power and speed of the beater stroke, with a lot less physical effort required. The smoother playing surface reduces friction between your foot and the footboard allowing more precise control and flexibility.
The Speed Cobra features the Accu-Strike Cobra beater that was developed to bring out maximum bass drum potential. The unique Butiadene Rubber offers strong resistance to wear and a lighter weight, providing consistent and articulate sound with strong attack. The thick rubber part produces a fat but focused sound even at lower volumes.
To continuously play fast passages, your pedal action has to feel light for less stress and muscle fatigue. The recessed setting position makes it possible to achieve a perfect balance between the natural playing feel of the Chain Drive's motion and lighter action. The footboard placement is designed to achieve the best balance between natural action and lighter motion. By changing the bearing's framework structure, this produces less stress on the FASTBALL bearing and makes a huge difference in the total feel. As a result, about 20 percent less exertion is required to produce the same result in power and feel found in existing current models.
