Key Features
The EarthQuaker Devices Tentacle V2 Octave Up is a stripped-back version of the popular Hoof Reaper Fuzz pedal. This model is a standalone version of the octave up effect that is produced from the original model. Thanks to this, you are provided with the potential to pair the Tentacle V2 with a fuzz pedal for the classic wailing tones of Jimi Hendrix and make your guitar really stand out in the mix. However, this pedal doesn't have to be paired, and still produces an incredible sound when used independently.
The V2 iteration includes a new Flexi Switch which allows both traditional latching operation and a momentary mode. Its momentary mode is perfect for adding intermittent octave-above effects to really make your solos and riffs pop out of your amplifier. The EarthQuaker Tentacle V2 offers a professional level of reliability and performance, alongside a vat scope for creative exploration.

The Tentacle simply takes the octave-up portion of the classic Hoof Reaper’s circuit and recreates it as a standalone device to generate an octave-above signal on top of your tone. You could pair it with a fuzz pedal to create screaming lead guitar tones that have been made popular by the likes of Jimi Hendrix.
Its stand-alone octave-up effect gives you more scope than the Hoof Reaper and allows you to pair the pedal with your other effects pedals to experiment with sounds. With its one-button operation, the Tentacle V2 couldn't be easier to use, and it gives you instant access to a radically shifted sound to expand your creativity.
The V2’s flexi switch ensures you can operate the pedal is both a traditional latching mode and in momentary mode. With this, the pedal works like a usual guitar effects pedal on/off switch, alongside this, it can also be used for ‘stutter’ effects. The momentary operation is ideal for highlighting short musical passages with the effect briefly engaged, such as during intermittent solo moments. This could be used to make your high-fret solo bends scream out of the amplifier or to give your riffs a brand-new creative edge.
