Forged in a bygone era. Or at least, it looks like it has been! The Custom Shop '60s Precision Bass wears Fender's Heavy Relic finish to give it tonnes of personality. The Relic treatment extends to every part of the instrument, inside and out, to create the vibe of a well-loved and played bass.
From the subtle discolouration of the neck finish to the careful ageing of the chrome and nickel hardware, this Custom Shop bass has seen a few stages. So if you want a workhorse instrument that'll feel like slipping on your favourite pair of shoes, this '60s Precision bass will make you feel at home.
Vintage accurate components
Just like it was in the '60s. While the Heavy Relic finish creates the look of a classic bass guitar, Fender's Custom Shop pair that with period correct components to provide a totally authentic experience.
The neck is shaped into a '60s P bass style oval "C", playing exactly like the instruments of old. Joined to that is the AAA grade flat lam rosewood fretboard - its thick profile and exquisite quality mirrors the early P basses and grants you a sublime feel underneath your fingers. Meanwhile, at top of the neck, there's the classic large headstock with accurate tuning machines, and at the bridge there's a hand-wound P bass pickup with a relic'd shield to provide you with the original sixties experience.
