Sennheiser understand, and they know exactly how difficult it can be to drag a heavy microphone locker around with you for those 'just in case' moments. With the K6 Professional Modular Microphone series, you don’t have to endure that pain anymore. Giving you an adaptable solution that you can tailor to any situation the world throws at you, this powerful series puts you in control.

At the heart of the system lies the Powering Module. This comes in two forms - the K6, and the K6-P. Both modules can be powered by standard 12V - 48V phantom power through the 3-pin XLR connector, whilst the K6 also lets you power your mic via a single 1.5V AA battery. A handy low-frequency roll-off switch is built into the power modules, so you can protect your sound from troublesome low-frequency rumble, wind and pop noise, and handling noise.

These power modules are compatible with each of Sennheiser's ME microphone capsules. For highly-directional recording, the flagship ME 66 capsule is the powerful shotgun in the ME series. It's perfect for capturing sounds where close-miking isn’t ideal, whilst still reproducing audio with outstanding clarity. The ME 66 features an 8.7'' long body. The longest shotgun capsule in the series is the ME 67, measuring 13.5'' in length. This longer design gives you a much tighter pickup pattern, making it ideal for capturing your sound source with even more isolation.

If you're looking for something shorter with a polar pattern that resembles more traditional cardioid characteristics, the ME 64 is the perfect choice. It's the shortest shotgun in the ME family, giving you a wider area of pickup than the much longer ME 66 and 67 capsules. This handy capsule is more suited to indoor use where close-miking is still difficult. If you're wanting to capture more sound from your environment, the ME 62 is highly-recommended. With it's omnidirectional polar pattern, you can capture surrounding ambience and room sounds with exceptional accuracy.

Finally, there's the ME 65 capsule. This is the one for when you get chance to close-mic your subject. Boasting a supercardioid polar pattern, this capsule ensures phenomenal isolation with a tight pickup area. This is perfect for on-location reporting or interviews thanks to its excellent resistance to ambient sound in noisy environments. The body of the capsule helps to reduce handling noise, making it perfect for handheld applications. You can also attach one of Sennheiser's ME series lavalier microphone capsules to your K6 or K6-P modules using the straight cable adapter for convenient hands-free recording. With so much versatility in a single easy-to-configure design, you can keep this compact and lightweight selection of options on you where ever you go. You'll be prepared for anything.
