The Rode Stereo Videomic Pro is designed for broadcast-quality audio, allowing you to capture every nuance of the sound you are recording, whether it be for interviews or capturing live performances. The high quality stereo configuration is thanks to the pair of matched, high-sensitivity ½’’ cardioid condenser microphone assembled into the XY positioning, providing a wide stereo image with impressive natural depth. The Videomic Pro’s ergonomic form factor makes it ideal for connecting to a DSLR as well as other camcorder and large-sensor video cameras. The microphone also features a newly designed Kevlar reinforced braided cable for maximum durability, perfect for prolonged use on the move. The windscreen has also been improved, minimising any unwanted environment noise such as wind and intrusive acoustics.
The Rode Stereo Videmic Pro features an integrated Rycote Lyre shock mounting suspension, increasing the microphone's overall stability and performance. The integrated shock mount is specifically designed for mounting to a camera, with this one built-in, it provides exceptional protection against camera motor and drive noise, as well as minimising handling noise and outside vibrations. The additional height of the shock mount allows you to keep the windscreen and microphone help up and behind the lens. Improving stability and audio performance, it’s easy to see with Rode has incorporated this premium quality shock mount.
Not content with just being a standard camera microphone, Rode has incorporated a wide range of controls and components that result in complete control over your microphone and audio. The rear of the microphone’s body features power and equalisation controls as well as a high pass filter at 75 Hz. The high pass filter works to minimise noise generated by low rumbling frequencies such as air conditioning or traffic. A +20dB level boost has also been included, specifically designed to provide a better quality signal with DSLR cameras, resulting in increased clarity and overall audio fidelity. Additionally, the microphone features a -10dB PAD which can be used to reduce the overall sensitivity of the microphone, perfect for recording louder sound sources such as live musical performances.
