Alternative Rock Style Drum Expansion

The Toontrack EZX Alt-Rock is an expansion pack designed for the Toontrack EZDrummer 2 software, inspired by some of the most renowned alternative rock bands that ever lived. The drums themselves were recorded by Steve Albini – one of rock’s most important sound professionals. Steve Albini has worked on albums by the Pixies, PJ Harvey and Nirvana, making him the ideal choice for capturing the essence of the alternative rock sound. The diverse yet raw palette of drums sounds utilises Steve’s unique method of microphone placement and attention to detail for exceptional sonic accuracy. The EZX Alt-Rock expansion features two full kits and cymabls setups featuring drums and cymbals from: Ludwig, DW, Meinl, Gretsch and more.

Meticulously Recreated Sound

The drum sounds themselves were recorded in central Chicago, in the Electric Audio studios designed and built by Steve Albini. The meticulous attention to detail and accuracy ensures you capture the very essence of the alternative-rock sound within your drum tracks. In addition to the two full kits and cymbal setups, Toontrack Alt-Rock includes five additional snares, two kicks, five cymbals as well as five percussion instruments. The pack also comes complete with a selection of MIDI drum grooves inspires by alt-rock music. Each of the kits can be customised and tweaked to your desire, suiting a range of styles as well as alternative rock. The kits and drum sounds included are taken from the: Ludwig Club Date kit and DW Collectors Series as well providing extra kicks and snares taken from a ‘70s Gretsch kit updated with cast hops and minimally-invasive mounting hardware as well as additional Timpani sounds.
